Dr Manol on Graduation Day
Dr. Manol Atanassov earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the National University of Health Sciences (formerly National College of Chiropractic) in 2023. His background in human movement, combined with years of competitive athletics, shapes the way he evaluates and treats musculoskeletal conditions.
Originally from Bulgaria, Dr. Manol moved to the Chicagoland area with his family in 1999. As a competitive figure skater, he represented Bulgaria internationally for five years before transitioning into coaching, where he has spent more than 15 years working with skaters of all ages and skill levels. His own athletic career was cut short by an ankle injury that failed to improve despite multiple medical consultations. It wasn't until he sought chiropractic care that the underlying mechanical cause of the problem was identified and successfully treated. That experience inspired him to pursue chiropractic as a profession.
Today, Dr. Manol focuses on helping patients understand not only where they hurt, but why they hurt. Every patient receives an individualized evaluation designed to identify the underlying mechanical contributors to pain and movement limitations. Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, therapeutic stretching, rehabilitation exercises, acupuncture, electrical muscle stimulation, and other conservative therapies based on each patient's specific needs.
Whether treating an office worker with neck pain, an active adult recovering from an injury, or an athlete striving to perform at their best, Dr. Manol's goal is the same: restore normal movement, reduce pain, and help patients return to the activities they enjoy with greater confidence.
